Not in Austin? No problem. We are always on the hunt for beautiful, well-made vintage pieces and we love working with sellers from anywhere in the country. Read through the process below before sending your first message so everything goes smoothly for both of us.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We buy the best of every season, all year round. Found a fur coat in July? Bring it in. Have a summer dress you're ready to let go of in December? We'll take that too.

What we love:

Pieces that are 15 years old or older
Natural fibers like silk, cotton, wool, and leather
High-end designer labels: Chanel, Hermès, Gucci, and their peers
Beautifully made independent and small designer labels: Doen, Jesse Kamm, Esby, and similar

What we generally pass on:

Polyester, unless it's an exceptional or rare piece
Modern mall brands: Free People, Johnny Was, Magnolia Pearl, and similar
Traditional wedding gowns and business suits

CONDITION MATTERS

Every piece we buy goes straight to our racks, so it needs to be ready. We ask that everything be:

Free of rips, tears, stains, and broken zippers
Clean and free of odors or pet hair
Looked over closely before your appointment, so there are no surprises for either of us

HOW IT WORKS

Send us photos via Instagram DM
DM us at @feathersvintageaustin with clear photos of each piece you would like to sell. Show us the front, back, any labels, and any important details. A brief description of each garment is also helpful. Photos must give us an honest picture of the condition of each item.
We review and get back to you
We will review your photos and let you know which pieces we are interested in. We price items after we receive them.
Ship your approved items to us
Once we have confirmed which pieces we would like to see, please ship them to:

Items must arrive clean and neatly packed, in the same condition as shown in your photos.
We inspect, price, and send you an approval sheet
Once your items arrive, we will inspect and price them and send you a price approval sheet within 3 business days.
Get paid
Once you approve the offer, we will process your payment. See payment options below.

HOW WE PAY

30% of retail value paid electronically via Zelle or PayPal
50% in trade credit, valid for 1 year. Trade credit expires after 1 year with no reminders or extensions.

High-end pieces may be eligible for 50/50 consignment. If your item qualifies, it will be priced and placed on the floor at full retail. You will receive 50% of the sale price when the item sells. Feathers will notify you once your item has sold and process payment at that time.

Important DETAILS

Shipping costs are the responsibility of the seller in both directions. This includes shipping items to Feathers and any return shipping for rejected pieces.

Any items that arrive with blemishes, tears, or imperfections that were not shown in or disclosed with your original photos will be rejected. Rejected pieces can be returned to you at your expense, or donated.
